The Second Edition has been updated and extensively revised and features 14 new chapters. New to this edition are discussions of neurologic manifestations of measles; poliomyelitis and post-polio syndromes; non-tuberculous mycobacteria; Whipple's disease; and Bartonella infections. Coverage of herpes viruses has been expanded to six chapters on the different herpes virus groups--herpes simplex virus; varicella and herpes zoster; cytomegalovirus; Epstein-Barr virus; human herpesvirus 6; and B virus. The discussion of chronic meningitis has been reorganized, with separate chapters on fungal meningitis and meningitis of non-infective or uncertain etiology.
