Publisher's Synopsis
Excerpt from Inaugural Ceremonies, March 4, 1897: Final Report of the Chairman of the Executive Committee
Frederick A. Holden was appointed bookkeeper for the committee. Rooms were engaged in the Glover Building, 1419 F street n.w., and there, on Monday, the 14th of December, the Executive Committee established itself. Meetings were held each Saturday night thereafter until the inauguration took place, and all were well attended. The several sub committees worked harmoniously, and when we realize how successful were their efforts, no better evidence is needed to show their zeal and enthusiasm. Many of the gentlemen who thus participated were active business men, to whom the sacrifice of time given was a matter of moment.
