Publisher's Synopsis
This cross-genre collection explores the ways in which endings can catalyze their own beginnings. Relationships, both platonic and romantic, are viewed through the lens of the natural world, from gemstones to harmful algal blooms to cosmological theories, gaining new significance when juxtaposed against each other. At the core of this collection is a question of identity. Who are we outside of our relationships with other people, and how is our concept of self affected when these relationships change or end?
