The story opens in Dallas, Texas, one week after the assassination of Dr. Martin Luther King, when people are trying to recover and not revolt. A badly decomposed body is found in a new and quiet neighborhood and the citizens are trying hard to overcome the implications. One small kid goes on a quest to resolve the issues and find the answers in how the past has affected the present and his community's future.
