Publisher's Synopsis
A Civil Engineer by profession, Wayne Westfall has called on his training for order and structure to write traditional rhyming poetry that celebrates lives of family and friends; that entertains through fiction, fantasy and humor; and that muses on everyday human experiences and spiritual matters. "In Search of Serenity" is an account of a homeless man who arrives at this place in life due to a few bad breaks and poor decisions. A totally fictional story, it was inspired by a real event: a young man riding a bicycle across a parking lot. The author never spoke to this person. If you're testing the water, "Just Sayin'" and "I See the Problem" should make you smile. "Goodbye My Little Lacy Love" may bring on emotion. "My Pup" may do both. Those over 65 will relate to "Ageless or Aged?" and "Bittersweet Seventy-five". No, it's not 'free verse'. But, even if it's not your preferred style of poetry, you might appreciate the effort required to create these stories with relatively precise meter, rhyming that does not appear forced, narratives that flow logically, and endings designed to generate reflection, agreement, and smiles.
