This is a book that gives the life story and journey of a black girl brought up in humble beginnings and felt unworthy because of her living conditions. A girl who stayed to herself and feared letting anyone get too close. This girl went through molestation as a child, as a young adult thought that all she was worth was someone to sleep with, use and abuse. As she gets older she begins to see herself differently and began to do things to better herself, like going back to college at 33 years old and doing well. Landing good jobs and being promoted numerous times because of her work ethic and character. Finding her way to what she has always been, a woman with many talents, a woman that so many look up to and admire even during those times she does not understand why. A woman that started to let her many gifts and talents show no matter what people think about her. A woman that does her best to set an example for her beautiful daughters letting them know that it's not where you come from but where you are at and what you do in those moments. A woman of faith that stands on the word " But the God of all grace, who hath called us unto his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that ye suffered a while, make you perfect, establish, strengthen, settle you." A woman that also stands on Jeremiah 29:11 "For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." A woman that has gone through many struggles and disappointments throughout her life and finally manages to know her worth and believes that no matter her upbringing and the bumps along the way she can fly.
