PLEASE NOTE: There is a DVD that coincides with this program Leader Guide. Be sure to order it as well. Disordered eating is serious problem in our culture today and affect millions of women in the U.S. alone. The number of individuals who struggle with poor body-image and low self-esteem is even higher. The I'm Beautiful? Why Can't I See It? support group program developed with Living in Truth Ministries is highly effective in helping women be able to identify root issues behind their struggles and implement effective tools to find true and lasting freedom. Many secular-based programs address the physical and psychological components of these issues but neglect a very important component-the spiritual. The Bible tells us that we have been created in God's image. Just as Father, Son, and Spirit make up the whole of who God is, our mind, body, and soul make up the whole of who God created us to be. Much like a three legged stool, neglecting to address any part of who God created us to be leads to incomplete healing. This 13-week program was designed by women and for women. Kimberly Davidson (author of I'm Beautiful? Why Can't I See It?) and Rae Lynn DeAngelis (founder of Living in Truth Ministries) have both found true and lasting freedom from their struggles with food, body-image, and low self-esteem through the Great Physician, Jesus Christ, and are passionate to help others do the same. The key to recovery from strongholds such as these lies in the renewed mind (Romans 12:1-2). We accomplish a renewed mind when we replace the many lies the world tells us about food, weight, appearance, nutrition, and body image with the truths found in Scripture. This program is successful because, not only do individuals find healing through the renewed mind, but they are also encouraged and strengthened through a community of women with similar struggles. Those involved in these healing groups are learning and growing with a common goal in mind - freedom in Christ. PLEASE NOTE: This program should be used in conjunction with Kimberly Davidson's book, "I'm Beautiful? Why Can't I See It?: Love Yourself and Love Your Body in 12-Weeks" (2nd Edition)
