The volume originates from an in-depth study carried out on three ancient registers preserved in the Historical Archive of the Municipality of Radda in Chianti (Siena). The manuscripts relate to the activity of three "podestà", head of the municipal administration of Radda: Giovanni di Giuliano di Giovenco de' Medici (in charge from 28th April 1520 until 28th October 1520), Francesco di Antonio Da Verrazzano (12th April 1548 - 11th October 1548), and Ippolito di Pierfrancesco Bassi (1st December 1741 - 30th June 1742).
