Justin Huntly McCarthy (1859-1936) was an Irish nationalist, author, politician and MP in the House of Commons of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland and as member of the Irish Parliamentary Party represented the constituency of Newry from 1885- 1892. He was the son of Justin McCarthy (1830-1912), and authored various novels, plays, poetical pieces and short histories. He was briefly married to Cissie Loftus.
