Publisher's Synopsis
This work focuses on an advanced stage of analysing interview transcripts: the identification and development of conceptual themes. Where respondents have been able to discuss their experiences, opinions or feelings in some detail, it is often possible to identify principles, assumptions and ways of thinking that underlie what was said. Identifying conceptual themes represents the more creative or artistic element of dealing with qualitative data. Although it is difficult to provide detailed guidance for a creative process, it is hoped that the ideas and suggestions made in this example will still prove helpful for applying to your own data.
