Tyler Beattie thinks that he's an ordinary child, albeit one who doesn't seem to be very popular with his teachers. After a rough start to life, his ability to understand animals is spotted by an agent of the ITSS and he is whisked away to develop his gift. Despite minimal training, and despite the safety concerns of the agency's top director, he and his new friends are soon called on to help stop an international crime syndicate, who seem obsessed with abducting rare animals, and selling them to the highest bidder.
