"ICT in Action" for ages 5-7 provides activities that are closely linked to the areas of study in the QCA Scheme of Work for ICT, and sections include: an introduction to modelling; understanding instructions; using a word bank; communicating information using texts; the information around us; finding information; labelling and classifying, as well as guides for teachers on file handling and desktop management, health and safety, introducing mouse control and creating; and animated books. The author is keen to show throughout how schools can achieve the requirements if the ICT curriculum with the minimum outlay on expensive software.
