Publisher's Synopsis
It begins with a prologue describing the birthday of a prisoner in an American deportation prison. Viktor has been sitting for seven years and remembers what kind of life he had on the outside, and what kind of life is happening now behind the barbed wire? There is a parallel description of the present - the prison with its laws and the days of the past, where life was in full swing when Viktor was on the crest of the wave of success in American society. Viktor Odessky, a lieutenant colonel of the Special Forces, an officer of the KGB, flies away to the West, violating all visible and invisible borders and moral foundations of a Soviet officer. And all because he saves his skin from inevitable punishment, for not fulfilling the order of his superiors - to storm the White House in August 1991, during the State Emergency Committee. He left his family and illegally went to the West through half Europe to France. Having enlisted in the Foreign Legion, he undergoes training, receives a new name, rank and changes his religion to get lost from the French police and KGB detectives. In the very first operation in Africa, he earned an award. The French command noted his reckless courage and promoted him.
Clearly fulfilling his tasks, he attracted the attention of the NATO command, which wanted to get such a fighter. Having worked for two years, during this time the detectives from the KGB came to him, tried to return the fugitive to his homeland - in a hand-to-hand fight, soaking two Chekists, Viktor finds himself in the hospital. After short treatment, under the protection of the US government, he was evacuated on the personal order of the president to US soil. Without a single document in his pocket, without a passport, without a visa and even without a tram ticket. In America, a completely different life began. From the NATO army, Viktor is sent to another department - the US Navy. He graduated from training and was assigned to the second detachment of the US Naval Special Forces - the North Atlantic Navy SEAL detachment in Virginia, on the East Coast, participating in multiply covert operations for US government. When family arrived, Oleg resigns from the army. While remaining a military contractor, he continues to carry out special tasks for the government on a one-time basis. In addition, at the request of the Department of Defense, he gives lectures for special services and special forces, while leading a completely peaceful life.
One evening, returning from another lecture, stopping at a gas station for fuel, he is attacked by two armed robbers-drug addicts, whom he neutralized. Unfortunately for Viktor, his actions were caught on video from a helicopter that was patrolling a police operation in the same area. The death penalty was abolished and he subsequently obtained a pardon from the president. Proving his innocence for ten long years. On scraps of pages and the back of his sentence, he wrote day and night so as not to go mad. Then, he managed to illegally transfer these recordings to freedom, and Victor's friends posted them on Internet resources... Thanks to the Russian character, justice and fortitude, Victor earned respect among the prisoners and became a godfather in the American prison. Having earned authority, he gives up the privileges of the thieves' world to go to study, engage in astrophysics and fulfill his childhood dream - to touch distant worlds. For the rest of his term, Victor studied space and extraterrestrial civilizations. Having rewound the term, he is released and learns the most terrible thing - his wife left him and he no longer has a family. Through his lobby in the Department of Defense, he gets back into the work. He is being introduced into the Farm training center of the National Security Service, where preparations are in full swing for the operation to eliminate Osama...
