Hurry Up and Wait

Hurry up and Wait...is a comical, romantic, and dramatic tale of three African-American female HBCU students in Atlanta, Georgia. Each girl comes from a different upbringing yet they meet on the come ground of living life in the moment and putting the future on hold. Chelle is the narrator of the story even though all girls speak from their own point of view. She comes from a two parent home with a seemingly normal family yet has been harboring a secret that continues to play a huge role on every decision that she makes. Chelle constantly searches for something to erase the hurt and finds that her current bo does it only temporarily, which causes her search to continue. While Shona on the other hand, is the life of the party, always the center of attention hence her full cheerleading scholarship and laundry lists of social engagements. She is the most undecided of the group and constantly pressed by her family of well to do Doctors and Lawyers more affectionately known as mom and dad. Shona lives life on the edge as she gets involved in a relationship that starts out in bliss and quickly takes a turn for worst. Last but not least, you have Trina short, spunky, flip-lipped and almost too much to handle. Being briefly raised in the North and living the majority of her life in the south she has the quick wits of a New York Hustler and the sweet talk of a Georgia Peach. This of course guided her right into the arms of a street pharmacist who needless to say was a lady's man. This ricocheted her into the grasp of a not so likely companion. Will these girls find what their looking for as they hurry through life....and tell their future to wait.
