Publisher's Synopsis
This edition has been revised to cover all aspects of the contemporary practice of obstetrics. The book includes new chapters on genetics, genetic counselling, prescribing during pregnancy, foetal assessment and the foetus as patient. Other chapters have been revised and, in some cases, shortened to enable the student to focus on the subjects that are becoming more important in the specialty. For instance, less detail is included on labour and delivery, while more prominence is given to medical complications and prenatal diagnosis and treatment.
