The tenth edition of this work underwent a thorough revision; the call for another edition now renders it possible to incorporate much new material as well as to make such changes as are necessitated by the advances (if Medical Science. New articles will be found on Syphilis, heart-block, kala-azar, Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever, Milk Sickness, Acute Febrile Jaundice, Erythremia, and Vincent's Angina. Important additions have been made to several chapters, among which may be mentioned the paragraphs on blood-pressure, the Color Index of the Blood, the Dietetic Treatment of Diabetes Mellitus, Lambert's Treatment of Narcotic Addiction, Coleman's High Calorie Diet in Typhoid and Other Fevers, Typhoid State, the Etiology of Typhus Fever, Russo's Test, the Vitamine Theory of Rickets, Schick's Reaction, macewen's Sign, Brudzinski's Sign, the Use of Vaccines, and the Peried of Quarantine for Most of the Com municable Diseases. Some new prescriptions have been added, and a few of the old ones have been omitted.
