Publisher's Synopsis
How to Raise a Healthy Child is the distillation of Dr Smith's experiences dealing with three generations of infants and children. The first half of the book begins with a discussion of preconception, pregnancy, and delivery and follows through with chapters of the newborn, diet for the first few years of life, growth and development for the first year, and a chapter on development norms for the years following up the age seven. The second half of the book describes common symptoms, diseases, ailments, allergies, and sensitivities. Dr Smith tells worried parents how to make intelligent educated guesses about what may be wrong with their children; what is serious and what is not; and when necessary, what action to take.
