Ghost-writer Lee finds she has serious competition in her ghosting assignments from her agent's latest client, the well-heeled and well-connected Bettina Pleshette. Determined to fight back, Lee flies out to Long Island, going head to head with Bettina for the lucrative assignment of ghosting the autobiography of controversial former rock star Shotgun Marriot. But the stakes are suddenly raised when two people are found dead. One is wearing a wedding dress and washed up onto the sand, and the other in the nearby woods.
