In order to ascertain whether poultry farming could or could not be made to pay, I devoted several months in 1902 to a close practical examination of the methods in vogue in most of the South of England counties.
After a thoroughly practical investigation I came to the conclusion that poultry farming could not be -made to pay if conducted by the methods taught by the Agricultural Colleges and Experimental Farms.
