Note. - The author of this circular was assigned in 1906 to the duties of inspector in charge of tick eradication in the State Of California. On final completion Of the work in that State in 1916, including an area of nearly square miles, he was transferred to the same duties in the State of Georgia. In the five years following, up to the time of his transfer back to California at his own request, be cooperated successfully with the Georgia State officials and succeeded in practically eliminating cattle ticks from approximately 80 Georgia counties.
