Publisher's Synopsis
This report arises from a case study of a school serving a social housing estate. As families were increasingly housed on the estate on the basis of "need", the school then faced a range of learning and behaviour difficulties in its pupils with which it felt unable to cope.;This book looks at the strategies adopted by the school to address this situation, setting out both their failures and successes. It suggests that registered social landlords need to be more aware of how their lettings policies impact on local schools, and argues for an extension of "Housing Plus" to incorporate issues related to schooling.
