All things considered, Natheka can't complain. Amity might be aloof, but she's inquisitive, brave, and carries the pelt of the Tree Thief. With a devil dog brought to heel, Amity shows every sign of being the mighty warrior Natheka desires in a mate. Until he finds out she hates killing. His planet is known as Certain Death. Kill or be killed is the key to survival, and if he wants his heart mate to survive, he may have to take on double duty. But the promise of a heart mate at his side means he's willing to do anything, even face off with the Ikthekal's deadliest enemy, if that's what it takes.
Amity knows she can make a life for herself on the mysterious yet phenomenally beautiful Predator Planet. But this mythical legend of the heart mate has her questioning everything. Because she's a scientist first, and while there are lots of evolutionary reproductive adaptations, she's never heard of one like this. Yet there's something about the soft-spoken, creative runner who keeps saving her life. Natheka is handsome, strong, intelligent, and damn if he doesn't smell intoxicating.
