Publisher's Synopsis
The IPO craze of the late 1990s has faded, but there are still a number of small, rapidly-growing companies in the USA. This text tells the story of 600 such companies, and features in-depth profiles for 100 of the companies. Also included are lists of fast-growing companies from top business publications.;The handbook covers selected US public companies with sales between $10 million and $1 billion, at least three years of reported sales, at least a 30 per cent rate of sales growth during that time, and positive net income for their most recent fiscal year. But there are also a few exceptions to these rules, to cover some companies that don't quite fit the mould. Some of the success stories covered: 4eBay, a cyber forum for selling merchandise; Netegrity, a provider of secure relationship management software; the Radian Group, which provides private mortgage insurance through subsidiaries Radian Guaranty and Amerin Guaranty; Cytyc, the maker of sample-preparation systems used in medical testing; and independent oil and natural gas company Chesapeake Energy.
