Publisher's Synopsis
The two most prominent creators in the Sect of Thruum have fallen. Both Vrauth and Kleck are dead, but The Anomaly will not be halted. Their grand plans of domination and revival continue. The sect pushes forward. The rise of their holy city only fuels the beliefs in their prophecies, the prophecies that promise the return of their lost God. Events are culminating quickly. Thruum is awake and hungry for revenge. The next step in their process is to find him a proper vessel to act as his body for his rebirth.
Daffonil and her order struggle to revive the Forest of Shade and hold the sect forces at bay. She prays The Green will see fit to grant them the strength they need. It seems for every advance they encounter a setback. Zimbwe was saved from their clutches only to lose Farrah to them. Hunter Frax whisked her away to their primary temple. And so, Tamaran and Stench have taken up the quest to rescue the golden healer from the desert lands and the heart of the sect. Meanwhile, Vallen, Zimbwe, Jell, Nodus, Lancel, Vissus and Weth plus others seek out an audience with General Laskven, envoy of the king, to spread the word of the growing danger the sect and their holy city represent. They soon discover new troubles block their path. Why will no one take the threat seriously? The sect's goals are drawing closer. Mistress Shania and Sister Chelsen threaten to call back their dead god in the flesh. More players are pulled into the threads of fate surrounding the prophecies of Thruum. From Vallen's surrogate brother Deeban to Derris and Jik the performers, old faces take a bigger role. New faces also surface from the far reaches of the continent. How do a desert lands crime lord and her time displaced friend, an elven lieutenant of Larl, an escaped gladiator slave, a pampered aristocratic diplomat and an ancient being of the old world play into the storyline? The scope of the sect's actions is growing, and it will require many hands to help slow their progress. Can they be stopped or has their dark prophecy advanced too far already?
