Publisher's Synopsis
Turning our backs on a stable but hectic existence on the Herefordshire/ Gloucestershire border, and seeking 'the simple-life', we catapulted ourselves into reclaiming a run-down smallholding on the side of the Cambrian Mountains. Fired with the over-confident enthusiasm of novices, we were met with a catalogue of challenges to overcome, not least a truculent band of geese and an uncomfortable encounter with a chainsaw. However, punctuated by the humorous antics of the chickens and our own woeful lack of experience, this book is a light-hearted read, and possibly a much needed reality-check for dreamers of a self-sufficient life.
