Publisher's Synopsis
This work contributes to the debate on regional planning in the Netherlands. In 1998 and 1999, the architectural event AIR-Zuidwaarts/Southbound went in search of new concepts for the planning of a region that included the Hoeksche Waard island. Visual artists, photographers, designers and cultural anthropologists researched the Hoekshe Waard, and eight design teams prepared plans and strategies for a new relationship between the city and the countryside.
