This is a politically incorrect retelling of World War Two. What if Adolf Hitler's erratic behaviour during the war could have been caused by his infatuation for the pert Elsa Wittmann, who had the habit of appearing before the Fuhrer half-naked? Our Elsa was to have a tough war. Branded with a swastika symbol by Hitler personally, cut by the fabled Lance of Longinus to protect her from harm and sold off to a Sudanese warlord when the Afrikacorps was at the gates of Cairo. Eventually commanding the first (and only) all-female combat unit in the German army to fight on the Eastern Front, Elsa's star rises then falls spectacularly, before Hitler finally consummates his relationship with her. It's history, but not as we know it. This is 374 pages and 150,000 words of text together with black and white chapter illustrations. It is a powerful story, for mature readers, but what harm is there in making the Nazis out to be not nice people?
