Publisher's Synopsis
Excerpt from History of the Massachusetts General Hospital Training School for Nurses
If the history is to have any value, it must be true; nu palatable facts must not be concealed, the difficulties of the work must not be minimized or exaggerated. Mere facts, however, are comparatively uninteresting unless illumed by the spirit behind them. The value Of the history, there fore, is dependent upon the reader's ability through imag imation to invest the facts with the thought, customs, ideals of the locality, time, and persons who were making history.
