Publisher's Synopsis
Historical method comprises the techniques and guidelines by which historians use primary sources and other evidence, including the evidence of archaeology, to research and then to write histories in the form of accounts of the past. The text Historical Research Methodology covers sources and methods that are well-established in history, such as archival research, together with those that are less widely known. In first chapter, we outline some of the issues involved in a long-standing dilemma concerning the relationship between history education and social action and propose a set of research questions and a methodology based on three illustrative case studies to form the basis of evidence for theorization of this relationship. Second chapter examines an alternate approach to the evaluation of formal models based on a Bayesian-inspired model selection method. In third chapter, we discuss the ancient Greek interpretation of freedom and its collateral of responsibility. Fourth chapter aims at investigating into the history of modal verbs in Persian from old to modern period. Fifth chapter focuses on methodology of history. In last chapter, we present a map of the human footprint for Mexico.
