Publisher's Synopsis
What is the Church? Is the Church merely a gathering of believers in a place at a certain time, as some scholastics may say? Is the Church just feasts, liturgies, candles, incense, and praises, as some liturgists perceive her? No. The Church is the mystical body of Christ, the continuation of the divine incarnation and the indwelling of the Holy Spirit. She is made of living members forming the true temple of worship. Just as the tree with all its subtle structure is latent in a small seed, she moved from the copies of truth to truth itself; from a Tent and Temple to a living body; from stones, marble, and gold into believing souls, truth, and faith.
