"Swami Kriyananda was a direct disciple of the great master, Paramhansa Yogananda. Yogananda came to America in 1920 and is well known for his universal teachings. He explained that these teachings were not new, but a new dispensation. Swami Kriyananda (Swami as we called him) always pointed devotees to Paramhansa Yogananda as the guru, much in the way that St. Francis pointed people to Jesus, and not to himself. This book contains excerpts from my (or sometimes others') interactions with Swami. He was a spiritual teacher and therefore these excerpts are inherently spiritual. Swami wrote150 books, composed over 400 pieces of music, lectured all over the world in numerous languages, founded eight intentional spiritual communities, and corresponded with many thousands of people.
