Publisher's Synopsis
SEXUAL ABUSE SURVIVORS SERVE THEIR OWN LIFE SENTENCE WITH THE MEMORIES OF THE UNFORGOTTEN. Every survivor of sexual abuse reacts differently and it is not unusual for feelings to change from day to day. Some survivors may deny or ignore their experience initially and seem to go on like nothing happened, I know I did that years before I considered going into therapy. In the ways of managing difficult experiences, normally the survivor seems untouched by their experience until a later date...possibly days, weeks, months or even years. There is no time limit for addressing an experience of sexual abuse although, survivors are encouraged to seek help when they are ready, regardless of the elapsed time......you may think and say, "that happened twenty plus years ago, why do something now"? Or "that happened five years ago, I'll be OK." In all honesty, you know deep down inside YOU as the survivor is screaming for the help in healing, but it only starts with that one decision upon yourself to seek that step!
