This book was inspired by a conversation with someone about my insight and knowledge of living with hearing loss. I literally have a lifetime of experience on this topic - realized that my experience could be beneficial to those unfamiliar with the challenges of having, or interacting with, a person with a hearing loss. That conversation became the beginning of the tips I share in this book. Some of them are: -The three biggest myths associated with hearing loss -Three things a person can ask of individuals to help be a part of the conversation -The dynamics of hearing that everyone uses and can be capitalized on when it comes to hearing loss -Some of the dangers (and benefits) of having a hearing loss -"CPR": three things to save a conversation from dying I realized if I shared this knowledge I would be giving those who were losing their hearing the tools to continue living full, active and satisfying lives despite their diminished hearing. It is time to share my insights, experiences and tips with a broader audience. I do so not from an academic point of view, but from personal experience of hearing loss since early childhood. My sharing is honest - personal - from the gut, no-holds-barred. It has to be that way to be truly helpful.
