Many new chemicals have been introduced for the benefit of daily life, medicine, food production and industry. Unfortunately, many of these "xenobiotics" are ceating environmental problems all over the world. Although it is necessary to control them, our knowledge of xenobiotics control has hardly gone beyond identifying the importance of the problem.;To tackle this form of pollution effectively, an interdisciplinary approach is needed. This volume consists of 64 selected papers (including some of the posters) from a symposium which was used as a forum for the exchange of ideas among researchers from many disciplines.
