An amusing tale about the formidable Dame Constance in Medieval England Finally, the builders have left the castle and Dame Constance has the peace and quiet she needs to begin decorating her lovely new extension...or so she thinks. Unfortunately it's not just her Italian decorator's choice of colours that is revolting - apparently the townsfolk are at it too. Outraged by the Poll Tax, murderous rebels are rumoured to be on the rampage. But whilst Dame Constance takes the news in her stride, her neighbours are taking it very seriously and running for cover to Vine Regis! As meddlesome merchants, pesky pilgrims and rowdy relatives descend upon the castle, Constance's dreams of interior design look like disappearing out of the window...
