Lavendula angustifolia Mill. (Family Lamiaceae). It focusses on medicinal plants in general and medicinal effects of lavender. The study also presents several in vitro manipulations of lavender. The genus lavender consists of 28-30 species. True lavender is commonly known as English lavender. Lavenders are mainly classified in four categories on the basis of origin, plant type and varieties.
