Publisher's Synopsis
Kiera is in a tough spot. Following a divorce from a disastrous marriage and her mother's untimely death by her own hand, she is fighting depression. She decides to visit two old friends in California who can help her find solace, and during the flight her plane is grounded in Dallas. Waiting out the departure of her connecting flight as the storm rages, she sits in an airport cafeteria sipping coffee when a young man approaches wearing and Air Force officer's uniform. He is tall, nice looking, and he smiles at her. "Do you mind if I join you?"
Because of the storm the cafeteria is crowded and there are no other empty tables. "Of course! Be my guest." Their conversation is easy and pleasant, and she discovers that he is on the same connecting flight to San Diego. He upgrades his ticket to first class so they can sit together, and as their conversation continues, her path to the future begins to look very different. By the time they reach San Diego a friendship has begun that could change both their lives.
