Publisher's Synopsis
First published in 1611 A.D. under the auspices of King James I of England, the King James Version (KJV) is the product of 47 English scholars translating the Bible from Hebrew, Aramaic and Greek into English.
Gospel King James Version Americanized updates the Gospel portion's Old English to the manner in which the same words are spoken in today's American English.
Other features of this book:
- Presents the scriptures in conversation form while maintaining chapter and verse numbers.
- Aids identification by returning some of the Gospel's Grecianized proper names, such as those of the prophets, to their Old Testament Hebrew names. For example, Esaias is reinstated as Isaiah, Elias as Elijah, etc.
- Displays forged scriptures in shaded background while leaving the reader to judge the matter for himself.
