Publisher's Synopsis
When the gospel is preached, a call to respond should be offered. However, with the use of many manipulative tactics over the last two centuries, what is the right way for a preacher to call for a sinner to respond? By failing to remain within these biblical parameters, a preacher may either misrepresent the full understanding of the gospel when asking for a sinner to respond, or they may manipulate the sinner into making a decision. When Peter preached the gospel on the Day of Pentecost, his hearers asked, "Brothers, what shall we do?" The biblical parameters of a call to respond to the gospel are based on Peter's answer in Acts 2:38, when he said, "Repent and be baptized..."
