Publisher's Synopsis
The purpose of any journal is to give you a place to keep a record of the work you are doing. In this case the "work" is spiritual study. This journal is meant to be a private record of your thoughts, questions, and even arguments with the Divine. Rest assured that it is all right to have questions about life and spirituality. It's all right to have doubts and even arguments with Spirit about what you read. By voicing these questions, doubts, and disagreements, you are more likely one day to get the answers you seek. You may keep this record entirely to yourself, since there are some, even those close to you, who may not understand why you would question the Divine or spiritual texts, but asking questions is healthy. It's far better to ask honest questions than it is to stuff your doubts and trust blindly. If you approach your beliefs this way, when your beliefs are tested, you may find that the entire structure crumbles under the weight of unanswered questions and unvoiced doubts. Better to ask questions and voice doubts now than to wait until you are under fire by the trials of life. If you have only pat answers to the difficult issues of life, then you may be totally unprepared when something transpires in your life that is contrary to how you think life should be. The structure of this journal is intended to be simple even though it is more involved than the basic spiritual study journal. There are places for you to ask questions. There are places for you to record puzzling passages. There are places for the answers to be recorded as they come to you. There are also extra places for notes and avenues for further reading and research so you can dig deeper. There are no surprises to the structure of the journal, although the answers you receive when you start asking questions may very well surprise you. There is a place to note the date and time of day for both the questions and the answers. Sometimes answers will follow immediately and sometimes it may take years for the answers to be fully fleshed out for you. Some things may be eternal mysteries to you, and that's okay too. Sometimes life tests us to see how comfortable we are with the mysteries of life and the Divine. It is my hope in creating this journal that it will become a valuable record on your journey of faith and exploration into the mysteries of the universe.
