Little did Cori know, her wishes have been adding up. Upon the third unintentional call to her genie, she is back to normal-or at least what normal would have looked like if she had never been recruited by Danato to work in his prison. Cori is dumbstruck by her new life. A life where her mother is alive, she isn't an indentured servant, and the man standing next to her is claiming to be her fiance. At another time, this scenario might have appealed to her, but at the moment, all she can think about is the family she has lost. Cori says a final goodbye to her mother and sets out to put her life back to the way it should be. Unfortunately, her arrival at the prison is met with suspicion and hostility. Somehow she has to convince three leery men to trust the stranger in their midst. Then she has to negotiate with a demi-god for her release.
