Publisher's Synopsis
This is a major milestone in Handel scholarship; the first definitive edition of the work. A comprehensive set of appendices contains draft material, revisions, rejected music, and details of the cuts and modifications made by the composer during the opera's revivals between 1724 and 1732. Included are suggestions for vocal ornamentation based on Handel's own practice, and the edition retains the original vocal ranges. Performance material is available on hire.
