Publisher's Synopsis
This journal keeps track of the significant milestones in a gifted child's life. When your child is evaluated for a gifted program, you will be asked questions such as how old your child was when they first walked, put words together into sentences, or started to read independently. Other milestones may include exhibiting characteristics of giftedness such as a mature sense of humor, a concern for world events (hunger, war, natural disasters), or an unusually mature sense of empathy. More than a journal for events like birthday parties or losing a tooth, this journal of gifted characteristics can help you become more aware of a child's intellectual development and emotional state. In addition, it provides a place to note your response to a gifted child's needs. What did you do when your child cried about the death of a pet? What did you do when your child raged because they didn't win the game? Tracking your child's behavior and your responses can give you insight into which actions were beneficial, and which ones were ineffective. The purpose of this journal is to help you be a better Gifted Child Mom and support the intellectual and emotional development of your child.
