This is one of two sets of book packages designed to meet the demand for specialized resources aimed at reluctant readers at Key Stage 2. Combining fiction, poetry and non-fiction, this resource aims to spark interest in reading in children who do not normally pick up books and turn that interest into continuing reading improvement.;Each package contains 28 children's books, all in protective jackets and two copies of 12 titles for paired work. Accompanying the books is a teacher's manual containing activities to motivate and involve children in sustained reading, and to develop and reinforce the entire range of literacy skills. Two audio cassettes reiterate the message that reading is worthwhile.;The Red set (7-9) is aimed at developing reading, and the Blue set (9-11) at motivating reading.
