Field Work. The geology of the Opal Mountain and Fremont Peak quadrangles was mapped by the writer during the winters of 1950 and 1951. About five weeks in the field was spent mapping the geology of each quadrangle. In addition the area was visited several times in 1952 and 1953 to check critical locali ties.
