Publisher's Synopsis
With this work, Carlo Lucarini presents a new critical edition of the geographers of antiquity. The fragments of the geographers (e.g. Hecataeus, Eratosthenes, Artemidorus) are reorganised and re-edited. For the minor geographers who have a direct tradition (such as Ps.-Scylax or Iulius Honorius), a new study of the manuscripts and editions has been undertaken. The material is divided into two volumes: The first volume presented here contains the geographers who wrote up to the Battle of Actium, the second the geographers of the Roman Empire.
