Publisher's Synopsis
This book covers the problems of the generation of random numbers, and pseudo-random sequences, in particular, M-sequences. The authors have identified the need for scientists and engineers to be familiar with pseudo-random number generation and to have both general and specific direction on designing pseudo-random generators for testing and self-testing digital circuits and for simulation problems. The book includes a critical analysis of linear congruential sequences and shows that M-sequences have better properties than other sequences. It also presents recent developments in the field of generating pseudo-random numbers for use in simulation and testing.
