Guest Editors Sheila Dugan and Heidi Prather want to get the word out to physiatrists regarding their unique role in caring for the musculoskeletal needs of women. This issue is divided into four sections: Adolescence, Child Bearing Years, Menopause and Post Menopause, with articles discussing current and sometimes underserved gender specific topics, such as ACL tears in female athletes, pregnancy and post-partum musculoskeletal issues, breast cancer, pelvic floor dysfunction, physical activity in menopausal women, and the prevention and treatment of frailty and more.
