I would like to thank the Subcommittee for the opportunity to appear this morning to testify on the Important issue of the Global Information Infrastructure, and the role of communications satellites in building that Infrastructure. Satellite technology offers opportunities to build global, seamless communications networks. In my tenure as Chairman of the fcc I am committed to ensuring that satellites continue to be an Important component of our overall policies that are designed to foster the development of both the National Information Infrastructure (nh) and the Global Information Infrastructure (gil).
