Publisher's Synopsis
"Piety" is a complex concept with a long tradition, which this volume approaches from different theological disciplines. Among other things, the authors present Old Testament and Egyptian ideas of piety, consider the variety of theological concepts of religion and the paradigm of "divine nature" as a challenge for Christian theology, examine the relationship between the terms "piety" and "spirituality", and analyze models on training for the pastoral profession and ask about the assignment of faith and feelings in the context of pastoral care. In the second part, members of the Vienna faculty present further current research projects. The volume closes with a sermon on the relationship between theology and the university.
